    Why you'll love this recipe

If you're following the keto lifestyle and you have a sweet tooth you're going to want to make a batch of this keto fudge to keep in the refrigerator or freezer.

It's super decadent and just one square will curve any cravings you have for sweets.

The thing that we love most about this low-carb fudge recipe is that it's super simple and you don't need any fancy equipment or a candy thermometer to make it.

For another super simple recipe, make our keto avocado chocolate pudding.

This recipe can easily be made using a microwave but if you don't have a microwave you can heat up the butter and keto chocolate chips on the stove.

    Key Ingredients

Ingredients needed to make keto fudge all in individual containers.

Butter - The butter adds flavor and fat, while creating a smooth and creamy keto fudge.

Sugar Free Chocolate Chips - You can use whichever sugar free chocolate chips you like to make this recipe, but we like Lily's. We also have a recipe for homemade sugar-free chocolate chips.

Powdered Sweetener - We like to use Lakanto powdered sweetener and Swerve powdered sweetener. It's not recommended to use granulated sweetener, it doesn't work the same way.

Heavy Cream - adds flavor, and fat, while working with the butter to keep this low carb fudge smooth and creamy. Like melt in your mouth creamy.

Vanilla Extract - For a touch of flavor. You can also switch the vanilla out with peppermint extract during the holiday season to make a keto peppermint fudge.

If you have any questions about the ingredients in this recipe, please leave them in the comments below and we will get back to you.

For another simple desert recipe, try our keto almond butter cookies.

    Variations

If you like your keto chocolate fudge a bit on the fancy side you can add the following ingredients as mix-ins.

    • ¼ cup nuts - pecans, walnuts or macadamia nuts.
    • ¼ cup cocoa nibs.
    • Nut butter - 2 tablespoons of almond butter or peanut butter for a keto chocolate peanut butter fudge.
    • Sugar-free marshmallows. Choc Zero is the best.
    • Different extracts - Peppermint or almond.
    • Sprinkle a pinch of salt on top before placing in the fridge. Larger salt flakes are the best.

Our keto peanut butter fudge recipe is another fun recipe to try if you love fudge.

    How to make keto fudge

    how to make keto fudge
    1. Using a microwave safe bowl. Melt butter and sugar free chocolate chips in the microwave for one minute. If you don't have a microwave, you can melt them together on the stove.
    2. Stir until all chocolate chips are melted. Heat for an additional 30 seconds if needed.
    3. Add in powdered sugar-free sweetener, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract.
    4. Stir until combined. If desired, add your add-ins (listed above) and stir.
    5. Spoon mixture into a parchment paper lined 4X4 square dish. Refrigerate for 1 hour, or until firm.
    6. Remove the parchment paper from the dish and using a sharp knife, cut into 25 squares.

    NOTES:

You will need to wait until the fudge is completely solid before cutting it.

These numbered steps match the numbered photos above and are for illustration purposes. For the complete list of ingredients and instructions, please see the printable recipe card below.

    Expert Tips

Mix by hand - This recipe is so simple there is no need to use a hand or stand mixer. Using those appliances will add air bubbles to your fudge, changing the consistency.

Parchment paper is a must - If not used, your fudge will be truly stuck to your pan. Save yourself the hassle and line the pan.

Hot knife - When you go to cut your homemade fudge, run your knife under hot water and it will give beautiful clean slices.

For another super simple dessert recipe, try our easy keto pumpkin mug cake.

    FAQs

I'm short on time, can I set this fudge in the freezer?

Yes. In a pinch, place in the freezer for 2 to 5 minutes and you should be ready to cut and serve.

    keto fudge cut into squares

    Storage instructions

This recipe is basically a refrigerator fudge. It melts easily and needs to be stored in the refrigerator or freezer. It last up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.

We love to freeze this fudge. We recommend cutting it into pieces before you freeze it, that way you can pull them out one at a time. Store up to 6 months.

    Best Chocolate Chips to use

When choosing your chocolate chips, always read the nutrition label and check the ingredients. The darker the chocolate the better, always aim for 70% and up.

Lily’s makes a low carb keto chocolate chip. We like using these in our keto brownies recipe.

Explorado Market – Sugar-free Chocolate Chips.

    Lakanto Sugar Free Chocolate Bars.

    90% dark chocolate, chopped.

We have a recipe for homemade sugar-free chocolate chips. They use similar ingredients and can be used to make keto chocolate fudge.

Any sugar free chocolate sweetened with Stevia and/or Erythritol (both sweeteners are a zero carb sugar sweetener) work in this keto fudge recipe.

    Dairy Free Keto Fudge

If you need a dairy-free keto fudge recipe make sure to use dairy-free keto friendly chocolate chips or chocolate and coconut oil.

You can melt the coconut oil and chocolate chips together the same as you would the butter.

You can also use a dairy-free butter. Because this is a refrigerator fudge, it will solidify when you chill it.

Make sure to store in the refrigerator or freezer otherwise it will melt.

This is Amazing! Works incredibly well in a silicone bites tray of 24 measuring out 18 grams per square with 23 grams left for hubby to enjoy a "big bite". I took pictures of course but don't see where to share since I don't tock, tweet or fb. So easy & sinfully delicious! Thank you for sharing 😀

Why did butter settle on top? I doubled recipe and finished. Put into refrigerator and peep on it after 15 mins. Melted butter is now on top. ??

        Hi Sherry,
If you melted everything together and mixed it well, then the main reason butter might settle on top is that the fudge mixture got to hot.

Powdered sweetener like Swerve, or Lakanto powdered sweetener. We hope that helps.

We use a 4 x 4 glass container that comes with a lid. You can use something similar, or double the recipe and use a 8 x 8 pan.

This was very easy, surprisingly tasty and the texture was just like traditional fudge. It had the very slightest artificial sweetener aftertaste, barely noticeable but next time I will use a little extra vanilla extract or the peanut butter mix in to counteract. I definitely will make this again.

Made as directed. I made it with a cup of chocolate chips. And used an old fashioned metal ice cube tray to cool in. Tasty. Also tossed in a handful of walnuts at the end. Thanks for the recipe.

You can cut the fudge into how many servings you like, just divide the calories and macros by that number. We like to make 1" pieces, which is about 25 servings.

I was shocked at how simple this amazing recipe was. It is really tasty, I didn't try any add ins the first time, and it was still delicious. I did use an electric mixer after adding the swerve vanilla and heavy whipping cream to make sure it had a smooth consistency, and it is amazing!

It depends on how thick you like the fudge. I used a 4x4 when I developed it, but I like the fudge a little thicker. You can certainly use any size pan that you like. I hope that helps.

The carbs are listed right before the net carbs, 1 gram of carbs per piece. Please double check the carb count based on the sugar free chocolate chips you use, it can vary by brand.

OMG, this is amazing. It literally is just like regular fudge, super easy and if you are a regular keto cook you already have all these things in your pantry so it's easy to make without really off the wall ingredients or extra trips to the store. I'm going to Disney World soon and I have a massive weakness for the fudge... not a problem now. Just make and bring a few recipes of this and problem solved.
