Why you'll love this recipe
Save Money: Creamers sold in stores are expensive, and creamers marketed as "keto" are even more expensive! No need to pay seven dollars for a bottle of sweetened cream. We can make our own for way less money.
No Cooking Required: There's no need to put this on the stove, all of the ingredients are simply mixed together in a jar!
Better for You: Store-bought creamers often have strange things in them. Emulsifiers, preservatives, oils, and other things you don't necessarily want to eat are not required for delicious coffee. There are four ingredients in this recipe that are all easy to find and natural.
Customizable: I'll give you some ideas on how you can change up the flavor of this vanilla keto coffee creamer so that you have variety.

Ingredients needed
This homemade keto coffee creamer recipe needs just 4 easy ingredients!
Almond Milk - Be sure to choose unsweetened almond milk for this keto recipe. We'll sweeten it ourselves. If you don't have almond milk, use all heavy cream instead.
Heavy Cream - A common ingredient in most keto household refrigerators, heavy cream makes this creamer high fat and extra creamy.
Powdered Sweetener - I suggest using Swerve or powdered allulose to make keto coffee creamer. You can use your preferred sweetener too, just be sure that it's powdered so that it will blend into the milk and cream smoothly.
Vanilla Extract - The better the quality of your vanilla extract, the better your keto coffee creamer will taste!

How to make keto coffee creamer
- Combine almond milk, cream, sweetener, and vanilla extract in a mason jar (I'm using a quart-sized jar here).
- Add the lid to the jar and shake, or stir with a spoon until the sweetener has dissolved.
- Store your homemade keto creamer in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Shake or stir well before using in your hot or iced coffee.
Here's a fun idea! Use your homemade Keto Coffee Creamer to make these creamy coconut and coffee ice pops. You can use this creamer in any recipe that calls for traditional coffee creamer.
Keto coffee creamer variations
Make it dairy-free: Instead of using almond milk and heavy cream to make your keto creamer, use just almond milk, or you can use almond milk and coconut cream to get a thicker, creamer consistency.
Make it extra thick: You can skip the almond milk altogether and make your creamer with just heavy cream, sweetener, and vanilla. Thin it out if needed with a small amount of water or another low carb non-dairy milk. Doing it this way makes this a nut-free keto creamer!
Make Other Flavors of Keto Creamer: These are just a few ideas to get you started. Using sugar-free baking extracts, you can make any type of creamer flavor that you can dream up.
Hazelnut Keto Creamer - Use 2 teaspoons of hazelnut extract in place of the vanilla extract. You can do the same with almond extract.
Pumpkin Spice Keto Creamer - Add 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice to the mix.
Peppermint Coffee Creamer - Reduce the vanilla extract to ½ teaspoon, and add ½ teaspoon of peppermint extract.
Mocha Keto Creamer: Add two teaspoons of cocoa powder to the almond milk, and heat gently until the cocoa powder dissolves. Then follow the recipe as written.
Speaking of cocoa powder, have you tried my Keto Hot Cocoa yet? The recipe makes a mix that is enough for 32 mugs of hot chocolate!
DOES KETO COFFEE CREAMER BREAK A FAST?
If you're fasting or doing intermittent fasting as part of your diet plan, the general consensus is that a true fast will be broken by anything that isn't water or black coffee. You may want to save this keto creamer for your afternoon coffee.
CAN I JUST PUT MILK IN MY COFFEE?
You can put milk in your coffee, but if you're watching your carbs, I don't recommend it. Compared to heavy cream, milk has more carbs and isn't nearly as satisfying.
You could also just add heavy cream to your coffee. Cream is high fat and low carb (just 0.4 grams per tablespoon), but it's a bit too heavy for coffee. That's why this recipe uses both heavy whipping cream and almond milk to get the perfect creamer consistency.
HOW TO MAKE KETO COFFEE CREAMER THICKER?
This is not necessary, but if you'd like to make the creamer a heavier consistency, you can cook it for a bit to concentrate it. Simply add the ingredients, minus the vanilla, to a saucepan, and simmer on low until it thickens. Add the vanilla after removing the creamer from the heat.
IS KETO COFFEE CREAMER GOOD FOR YOU?
You might be wondering if you should use keto coffee creamer, or make the very popular Bulletproof coffee. If you've had bulletproof coffee before, you know that it's just butter or ghee and MCT oil added to a cup of coffee and blended.
This is a good way to get some healthy fats, but keep in mind it can also be high in calories.
While this creamer doesn't include MCT oil, you can certainly still add it to your Keto coffee, along with this deliciously creamy, keto-friendly creamer that has low amounts of saturated fat compared to coffee with butter in it.
WHAT COFFEE CREAMER CAN YOU USE ON KETO?
While I'm going to suggest that you try this recipe (It's really good and not at all expensive to make!) here are the brands of keto coffee creamers that you may be able to find at the store, in case you were looking for that. I'm not listing creamers that are only available on-line, but there are quite a few!
- Coconut Milk Creamer, so long as it's unsweetened is keto-friendly. Look for SO Delicious brand in the refrigerated section.
- Nut Pods Creamers - The unsweetened varieties of NutPods almond and coconut creamers are keto-friendly and come in some exciting flavors.
- Milkadamia - Again, an unsweetened dairy free milk, this once is made from raw macadamia nuts.
To sweeten your coffee after adding one of these grocery store options, try a bit of powdered swerve or your favorite low carb sweetener.
ARE SUGAR FREE COFFEE CREAMERS KETO?
Traditional creamer brands such as Coffee Mate or International Delight are not a good option on a keto diet, even if they are the sugar free variety.
These creamers are quite processed, and include many undesirable ingredients. Stick with a homemade sugar free creamer like this recipe if you want to enjoy a healthy keto creamer.
