Keto Crab Dip Recipe
I love to serve dips at parties because they’re easy to make and you can double or triple the recipe depending on how many guests you have. This particular keto dip is one of my favorites.
It’s super simple to make and is ready in less than five minutes. No need to chill it before serving, but it is better when served cold.
Ingredients in Keto Crab Dip
- Canned crab meat
- Sour cream
- Onion powder
- Garlic Powder
- Salt
- Optional: sliced green onion
How do you make keto crab dip?
This crab dip is made with crab, sour cream, and a couple of seasonings. Combined everything in a bowl and chill (or don’t).
Serve this seafood dip with your favorite salty dippers or low carb veggies.
Can I use fresh crab to make crab dip?
Yes, you can use fresh shredded crab meat. Make sure your crab has drained after cooking, before adding it in with the other ingredients.
If your fresh crab is watery, consider patting it with a paper towel before adding it.
Can I make hot keto crab dip?
Because this is a cold keto crab dip recipe, and it was developed to be served cold, it can't be heated. The sour cream would curdle.

This keto crab dip is ridiculously low in carbs, so I don’t have to worry about enjoying myself.
When I make dip, I like to stick to simple easy to find ingredients.
I also like to use as few ingredients as possible. In my opinion a good dip can be amazingly delicious and take less than five minutes to make.
This creamy keto crab dip is hands down one of the best dips I’ve had and it only requires four ingredients.
I love the subtle flavors of crab and shrimp mixed with sour cream and spices.
This dip is low carb, gluten-free, egg-free, nut-free, and grain-free. It’s the perfect match for a salty pork rind and it makes a fabulous keto party food or keto appetizer.
Storing Keto Crab Dip
Because this keto crab dip recipe has crab it’s best when enjoyed within 24 hours. It will last up to three days in the refrigerator in a sealed container.

Ingredients
- 8 oz. canned crab meat, drained
- 16 oz. full fat sour cream
- 1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a medium sized serving bowl and stir until well combined.
- Enjoy right away or store covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- Garnish with green onions if desired.
- Stays good in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Notes
- Imitation crab meat often has wheat in it as a filler ingredient. It also has a different texture. Use real crab meat for this recipe.
- This keto crab dip is best when served cold. Do not heat.
